In version 1.6.7.0 there is more to color finding than ever before. If you don’t have a formula for a specific color, you can simply create a new one with status „Not available“ and by doing so start using this feature.
If you do so, it makes color searchable in Redlike2. Such color is not tintable but this feature comes with another one. For color without a formula you can search competitive colors with fomulas and tint one of those.
Please note that if you start using this feature, both Redlike2 and Redlike Manager have to be updated to at least v1.6.7.0. If only Redlike Manager is updated, it can result in wrongly tinted colors!
Also searching of competitive colors is something which might need setting up beforehand at least by enabling this feature in parameters. But there might be more to it, so if you are curious about this feature continue reading.
How to use this feature
The first part of the feature – formula status “Not available” does need no setup. In formula edit you just set Status value as “Not available”.
Colors with “Not available” status are distinguishable from other colors easily thanks to indications in various places. Those places are highlighted in the image below.
If you look up color in Redlike2 which has formula status of “Not available”, this state is indicated in both left and right column of the application screen.
If you have enabled Competitive color search feature (setting up is described later in this article), you can see button “Try to find the competitive color” as is displayed in the picture above.
After pressing this button Redlike2 searches for all competitive colors (for the color without a formula) which are being defined as being within a certain “Delta E” range. Result of such a search is shown in a picture below.
Search result is a table with columns:

Delta E says how well fared in the search; value is displayed in the form of signal indicator, where stronger means better

Color preview shows both colors side by side, so you can more easily find the best competitive color

If you want to tint one of competitive colors, use button “Load formula” in bottom right corner to load selected formula. And from there continue in a way you are used to.
How to enable and set up competitive color search
Competitive color search is based on a Delta E value, so if you want to use this feature, you have to set LAB values for your colors (Edit color form > container Spectral data).
If you have these values set, all is left is to enable this feature in parameters:
